Breaking ground on the Hong Kong-Macau bridge

by Tony Sagami on December 15, 2009

It takes about an hour by ferry to go from Hong Kong to Macau and one company, Shun Tak (0242.HK) has the monopoly on that ferry route.

China did break ground on the Hong Kong to Macau bridge yesterday. Once completed, it will not only be the longest sea bridge in the world, it will make it easy for millions of new gamblers to get to the Macau casinos.

Construction is expected to take six years so don’t expect a big jump in gambling revenue right away.

Tony,

Who is building the bridge? Also, what is the most undervalued Chinese Gold Mining firm you have found?

Thanks

ASA subscribers were recently instructed to take profits on their one Chinese gold stock. No gold stocks appear undervalued to me today.

So - what brokers trade in Canada can trade HK stocks? It’s great to know what’s hot, Tony, but if one cannot trade them it’s not really helpful.
