Chinese man pays $2.1 million for Buffett lunch

by Tony Sagami on June 30, 2008

I admire a lot of things about Warren Buffett, but I especially admire all the philanthropic work he does. One of the highest profile charitable things he regularly does is auction off a lunch with him.

In the past, I’ve seen people spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to lunch with Buffett

Last week, a Chinese hedge fund manager paid $2.1 million for the privilege. That is more than triple last year’s record of $650,100.

To me, what this really shows is how vigorously China has embraced capitalism.
