Chinese returning to China

by Tony Sagami on October 25, 2009

They are called ’sea turtles’ in China. I’m talking about native Chinese that went to work in the U.S. but are now returning to China.

Call it a reverse brain drain, but many of the brightest, most accomplishment Chinese workers in America are going back to China. Why? They probably miss their homeland but they also see more opportunity in China than the U.S. That should tell you something.

The Chinese government is enticing them back with government backing to start new businesses.

Government representatives have deep pockets, offering seed money of up to $1 million (which goes much further in China), rent-free offices and labs, favorable tax benefits, assistance in cutting through red tape and other goodies to those with business plans to their liking.
