Steel is one of those basic building blocks that a growing economy consumes. That’s why I was very interested to see that monthly steel production in China hit a new all-time high in August to 51.65 million tons, a 21% year-over-year increase.
Either the Chinese steel producers are dead wrong about the demand for steel….or their customers are ordering steel like crazy. Which do you think?

I still don’t get the benefit of comments on these pages that were first posted a year ago!
It is very confusing, and misleading if you don’t realize it was posted in ‘08 instead of yesterday.
