Joe Wilson, the South Carolina congressman who shouted “You lie!” during Obama’s speech to a joint session of Congress, has been pegged as a racist by even ex-President Carter.
For a little balance, Wilson has one ethnic group (Indians) that love him.
Wilson was the co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian-Americans, sponsored that recognized the religious significance of the Hindu festival of lights, and spearheaded the process to give India access to our nuclear power technology.
Wilson may have been guilty of bad manners, but I don’t see a hint of racism.
