Slowdown in China for Yum Brands

by Tony Sagami on December 7, 2009

Yum Brands warned that its same-store sales in China will fall by 3% in 2010. That’s quite a turnaround from the rising same-store sales Yum Brands (Pizza Hut and KFC) have enjoyed in China but it is a heck of a lot better than the 8% drop Yum expects in its U.S. stores.

After making $45 million in 2008 and $50 million in 2009 in currency gains, Yum Brands may have a hard time making as much from the falling dollar.
