China’s Economy Probably Slowed, Increasing Pressure for Further Rate Cuts China’s economy probably expanded at the slowest pace in almost four years in the third quarter, adding pressure for interest-rate cuts and government spending to prevent a slump.
Gross domestic product grew 9.7 percent from a year earlier, according to the median estimate of 12 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News, down from 10.1 percent in the previous three months. The data is due to be released on Oct. 20.

Your article, Funding America’s Future Can Make You A Whole Lot Richer, was a very inspired piece. You succinctly identified the sins of giving the criminals who bankrupted this nation bailout money with meaningless conditions on
the use of the money. As an ex-Wall Street man I can tell you that everyone there knows the risks of what they do. If you blow up you blow up. End of story. If I thought I could blow up and get bailed out what bets wouldn’t I make? Also, you showed how
the rebuilding of the infrastructure must be the government’s very high priority for job growth, energy independence and ultimately the nation’s survival. Unfortunately, the government hasn’t thus far responded with the appropriate vigor to this
essential issue. Hopefully, the new administration will or as you said in one of your previous oil newsletters, Americans may be climbing over the very walls built on our borders to keep other people out to get out themselves. JR
